9 Reasons Our Traverse Backpack Goes Further — in 30L & 38L

Choose 30L for everyday carry and shorter trips, or step up to 38L when the route calls for more room. Both open flat, protect a 16-inch laptop and keep travel gear easy to reach.

There’s a moment every traveler knows: your route gets longer, your gear list grows, and the bag that felt fine at home becomes the thing slowing you down. Traverse is built to keep the load organized, comfortable and ready to move.

The hard part is choosing enough space without carrying more bag than you need. That’s why we make Traverse in two sizes: a 30L model for everyday carry and shorter travel, and a 38L model for longer escapes and heavier loads.

Both sizes share the same travel-first foundation: clamshell access, dedicated organization, 16-inch laptop protection, weather-resistant materials and a luggage pass-through. Here are nine reasons to choose your Traverse.

1

We Made Both Sizes Open Flat for Clearer Packing

Unzip the main compartment and Traverse opens in a full clamshell layout, so you can see the whole load at once. Pack in layers, separate small gear into dedicated pockets and stop digging to find what slipped to the bottom.

The same packing logic runs through the 30L and 38L. Your choice is about how much room the trip needs, not which model gets the useful layout.

2

Choose the Space That Matches the Route

Start with what you actually carry most. The 30L keeps everyday and shorter-trip loads tighter; the 38L adds space and more load control for longer travel.

We Put Fast Access Where Travel Needs It

Both sizes include dual side-access front compartments. The right side adds two sleeves, two pen slots and a Mod Key Tether, while a soft-lined top pocket keeps cameras or sunglasses away from rougher gear.

Inside the clamshell compartment, front pockets, side mesh pockets and a back sleeve give small items a deliberate home. A hidden AirTag® sleeve adds a discreet place for your tracker.

One travel system. Two sizes.

Your 16-Inch Laptop Gets Its Own Protected Route

A separate compartment fits laptops up to a 16-inch MacBook Pro in both sizes. The 38L sleeve is fleece-lined; the 30L uses a dedicated padded compartment that keeps your device separate from the main packing space.

That separation matters on working trips: your clothes stay packed while your laptop stays available.

We Tune the Harness to the Load

The 30L pairs EVA-padded shoulder straps with an EVA back panel, quick-dry X-Grid mesh and an adjustable sternum strap. The 38L adds an adjustable waist strap to help stabilize a larger load.

Padded top and side handles give you more ways to move the bag through tight spaces, while the luggage pass-through lets either size ride on a roller when you want it to.

6

Weather-Ready Materials Keep Moving When Conditions Change

Both sizes are available in Axoflux 400D ripstop nylon with a cool-gray Axoflux interior. The 30L also comes in Black or Olive Green X-Pac® X42 builds with a blood-orange interior.

YKK AquaGuard® and standard zippers support the weather-resistant construction. Traverse is built for changing travel conditions, but it is not a submersible dry bag.

Quick questions, answered

Which size should I choose?

Choose 30L for everyday carry and shorter trips when you want the lighter, tighter option. Choose 38L when longer travel or bulkier gear makes extra capacity and a waist strap more useful.

Are both sizes carry-on compliant?

The 30L measures 47 × 28 × 18cm and the 38L measures 50 × 31 × 20cm. Airline and fare-class limits vary, so compare those dimensions with your carrier before every trip.

Which materials are available?

Both sizes come in Axoflux 400D ripstop nylon. The 30L also offers Black and Olive Green X-Pac® X42 builds. Exact colors and availability are shown on each product page.

Are the backpacks waterproof?

Traverse uses weather-resistant materials with YKK AquaGuard® and standard zippers. X-Pac fabric options on the 30L are waterproof materials, but the complete backpack is not a submersible dry bag.

Will my 16-inch laptop fit?

Yes. Both Traverse sizes include a dedicated compartment designed for laptops up to a 16-inch MacBook Pro.

What if it’s not for me?

You can return eligible unused items in brand-new, original condition within 45 days of fulfillment. See our returns policy for the current terms before sending an item back.
